mississauga million dollar lottery winner.

Mississauga’s Jakub Jaworowski is a man of few words — at least it appears that way.

Jaworowski is among the city’s newest millionaires after his Lotto 6/49 ticket won for him $1 million in the Sept. 27 Gold Ball Draw, officials with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) said in a news release on Friday.

The Mississauga man chose to collect his winnings quietly. While most lottery winners are happy to share a few words with the public after claiming their big cash prize, that’s not the route Jaworowski decided to take.

And that’s OK, say OLG officials in charge of running the various lottery games and draws. Not every winner of a big cash prize has something to say.

The lucky Mississauga ticket holder had his photo taken and published, as lottery rules stipulate, and then went quietly on his way to make plans for his winnings.

While most big winners do choose to offer public comments and reaction upon claiming their giant cheque, they’re not mandated to do so. They’re only bound by lottery rules to either have their photo taken by OLG officials or supply a photo themselves for publication.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada, on The Queensway East in Mississauga.
