A new sports complex is about to make the City of Brampton the ultimate hang out spot for cricket fans.

The current CAA sports and entertainment facility (formerly the Powerade Centre) will undergo a massive refresh and be transformed into a multi-purpose building.

The state-of-the-art facility owned by the City of Brampton will span across 112 acres and be situated east of Kennedy Road, west of Highway 410 and north of the 407 ETR.

New photo renderings were released on the City of Brampton’s website of the development and how it may look once complete.

This is the heart of  ‘Uptown Brampton’ and future developments including transit, retail, and residential spaces.

The City is also planning to launch Expression of Interest (EOI) and is seeking investors that will place bids on the site and according to statement on their website help “develop the lands into a vibrant urban realm and walkable neighborhood.

Brampton mayor Patrick Brown finds the new venture to be both exciting and stressful but he believes it’s an “opportunity to do something very special, including creating a legacy project.”

Meanwhile, residents of Brampton are asked what they’d like to see included in plans for the site. A public survey was launched and will remail open until February 28.
