While the start of summer in southern Ontario has been mostly sunny, July is looking to be a bit stormy.
Based on information from the Farmer’s Almanac, July of this year is looking to stay consistent with summer averages in southern regions of the province, bouncing between hot days and likely dark, cloudy skies, set to be just as full of rain as rumbling thunder.
From July 1 to July 7, Canada Day celebrations will likely not be too interrupted, as predictions indicate that during this window, a few thunderstorms will occur, while still being very sunny and very hot.
Following that, from July 8 to July 12, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated to hit areas around the GTA, while dropping a few degrees to generally warm temperatures.
Then, from July 13 to July 15, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated in regions like Durham and beyond, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated, while the west of southern Ontario will stay generally sunny and warm.
Closing off the month, from July 26 to July 31, a few storms are anticipated to hit the region while still staying favourably warm.
General averages for the month include a resting temperature of 21 C across the board, with marginal differences by one degree both east and west, while precipitation is set to remain at 95mm (70mm above avg. east, 40mm below average west).
