House fire in Burlington started near combustible items in garage, $50,000 in damage

A house on Stillwater Court in Burlington suffered an estimated $50,000 damage when a fire broke out just after midnight.

According to the Burlington Fire Department, three people were in the house in south Burlington when the blaze broke out on Aug. 25.

The fire, which saw six trucks and 19 firefighters on the scene, broke out in the garage and it took about an hour to bring under control.

No injuries were reported and the initial cause of the blaze is a halogen light being left close to combustibles.
