A pair of horses and eight people are recovering following a crash between a minivan and a buggy north of Brampton.
The OPP said on Sunday the crash happened on County Road 9 in Melancthon when the driver of a minivan collided with a horse-drawn buggy.
A photo of the crash shared by police showed the wreckage of the buggy which had been completely demolished and a white minivan parked nearby.
Two horses escaped following the crash and were later found and kept safe in a nearby barn while police say eight people in the buggy were transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
Police did not comment on the severity of the injuries or whether any charges are pending related to the crash.
Country Road 9 was closed for several hours while police and emergency crews were on the scene, and police are still investigating what led to the collision.
