Homes evacuated after truck hits gas meter in Brampton

Homes in Brampton were evacuated last night after a pickup truck hit a gas meter in Brampton.

The pickup truck went between two houses at Denison Avenue and McLaughlin Road South around 11:30 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 6), Peel Regional Police said in a tweet.

The truck struck a gas meter and area homes had to be evacuated.

The driver was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver faces impaired driving charges, police said.
