This winter, kids and families can warm up with cozy crafts, stories and activities at Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) in Brampton.
The popular cultural centre is hosting a variety of fun events in December – perfect for families with children who want to get out and get creative during winter break!

It’s also an affordable way to get out of the house, since the costs for these events are covered under general admission.

From storybook time and crafts to performances by special guests, check out the many ways PAMA is transporting families to imaginative worlds this winter.

Storybook Studio Times
Dec 20 to 23, 27 to 30, Jan 2 – 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Gather in the cozy story corner as PAMA’s art educators read some of their favourite childhood tales. After the reading, get creative with an arts and crafts session inspired by each day’s story time fun.

No registration is required for Storybook Studio Times, and drop-in is first-come, first-served.

African and Caribbean Folk Tales with Kesha Christie
Saturday, Dec 20 – 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
Be enchanted by rich African and Caribbean folk tales with storyteller Kesha Christie, including the lively and timeless tales of Anansi, a spider-like trickster known for his wit and cunning.
Kesha Christie is a TEDx speaker, keynote presenter, professional storyteller, and the host of Walk Good: African & Caribbean Folktales. Her powerful performances, thought-provoking keynotes, and coaching inspire people to find their voice and own their story.

Shadow Puppet Workshop with Little Chaos Co.
Saturday, Dec 27 – 2 to 3 p.m.
Discover the magic of light and shadow storytelling through this one-of-a-kind puppet show and workshop, presented by Little Chaos Co.
Moondance is the story of a young girl coping with loneliness, finding magic and going on an adventure that changes her perspective. Then, create your own magic with shadow puppets as the Shadow Show puppeteers guide you through the playful and creative process of making shadows come alive.
Little Chaos Co. is known for the whimsy, wonder and cacophonous joy they put into their performances. The group has a strong belief in the power of the extraordinary, and they’re constantly searching for visually creative ways to tell stories.

It’s a popular spot to explore and learn about the region’s diverse culture and heritage through a variety of events and exhibitions held all year round.
Visitors should note that PAMA will close early at 2 p.m. on Dec 24 (Christmas Eve) and Dec 31 (New Year’s Eve), and will be closed the entire day on Dec 25 (Christmas Day), Dec 26 (Boxing Day), and Jan 1, 2026 (New Year’s Day).
