A Brampton man is facing charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a crash near Kitchener last week.

Around 4:40 p.m. on July 3, the OPP says officers from the Perth detachment were called to the area of Road 164 and Perth Line 20, approximately 74 kilometres west of Kitchener.

No injuries were reported but police say the driver of a pick-up truck crashed into a sedan, but the pick-up driver took off and fled the scene.

Investigators were able to locate the pick-up in Stratford, approximately 20 kilometres from West Perth where the crash occurred, and a 33-year-old from Brampton was charged.

Prabjeet Singh, 33, of Brampton has been arrested and charged with

  • Fail to stop after accident
  • Fail to yield to traffic on through highway
  • Driver fail to surrender licence

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on July 31. None of the allegations have been proven in court.
