Hit-and-run crash end with break-in-related charges for Brampton driver

What started as a car crash ended with break-in and auto theft-related charges for a man from Brampton.

The single-vehicle collision happened in the northbound lanes of Highway 400 near Aurora Road on March 16, the OPP says.

The driver took off on foot following the crash and led police on a chase, but was located with the help of York Regional Police officers.

But police say the 20-year-old driver had break-in tools and a vehicle master key in his possession.

The incident led the OPP to charge a 20-year-old Brampton man with dangerous driving, possess break-in tools, possess auto master key, and possess of property obtained by crime.
