Update: Hit-and-run collision in Brampton; take alternative routes

Part of a major Brampton road was shut down on Tuesday night after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a suspected hit-and-run collision.
At 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 11), Peel Regional Police received a report of a collision, involving the driver of a car and a motorcyclist, in the area of Rutherford Road and Madoc Drive in Brampton. The intersection of Rutherford Rd. and Archdekin Drive has been closed, and northbound Rutherford Rd. is closed at Queen Street, so drivers should take alternative routes.
The driver of the car did not remain at the scene, which is legally required under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. Meantime, the motorcyclist has been taken to a trauma centre for treatment of “serious but non-life threatening injuries”
