Highway Crash Prompts Massive Vehicle Fire in Mississauga

Officers, paramedics, and fire crews are on scene for a serious collision this evening.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m., OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt reported that a vehicle was struck by a transport truck on Highway 401 eastbound near Dixie.
Crews are currently battling the ensuing vehicle fire.
The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.
Highway 401’s collector and express lanes will be shut down from Hurontario towards Dixie until further notice.
Members of the OPP’s Port Credit detachment and Collision Reconstruction Team will be attending the scene to investigate.
