Highway collision in Milton backing up traffic

Highway travel in Milton was snarled most of Monday afternoon and into the early evening after a collision that involved a truck rolling over.
The two rightmost lanes and right shoulder of the eastbound 401 were closed at James Snow Parkway at arond 3:22 p.m. due to the collision. About 3¼ hours later, the Ontario Provincial Police highway safety division sent an alert stating that the truck involved in the collision was upright.
“Hope to have all lanes opened within the hour,” the OPP said on Twitter.
In such instances, traffic is often diverted off of the highway on to local streets and routed back on to it and the next interchange.
