Single-lane closure anticipated to impact the QEW Fort Erie Bound near Burlington this week

With summer officially kicking off last weekend and another sun-filled long weekend on the horizon, many in the province are likely gearing up to do some highway driving to a destination of their choosing at the end of this week.

However, according to information relayed by 511 Traveller Information — with data collected by Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation — some weekend commuters may want to double-check their roadmaps before heading out.

Closures anticipated to impact the Peel Region (Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon) include:

  • From June 24 to 27, maintenance on Highway 403 is anticipated to close three lanes of traffic from 9 pm to 5 am around Hurontario Street.
  • Construction projects are anticipated to impact the QEW eastbound on both Cawthra and Dixie roads respectively. From June 27 to 28, these closures will be expected to last from 11 pm to 5 am.
  • Active construction on a Highway 410 off-ramp heading northbound at Boivard Drive is expected to leave all lanes closed from midnight to 5 am from June 24 to 25.
  • Maintenance construction on Highway 410 on  Courtneypark Drive in Mississauga and Valleywood Boulevard in Caledon is anticipated to close one lane and will last from 10:30 pm to 4:30 am.
  • Highway 401 construction project on the westbound collector between Mavis Road and Winston Churchill Boulevard. The project is anticipated to go from June 24 to the 29 and will cause two lane closures from 11 pm to 5 am
