Highway 406 north at Welland down to one lane next month

A one-kilometre stretch of Highway 406 northbound will be down to one lane at Merritt Road in Welland, says the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.

The MTO said they will be replacing a structural culvert just north of the Merritt Road interchange, starting May 1.

While they added they didn’t believe the one-lane blockage would “have a significant impact or create traffic backups, the ministry also didn’t give a timeline for completion other than “later this year.”
