Highway 406 in Welland closed down as trailer dumped on slippery road

The Niagara OPP were called to the scene today (July 18) at 1 pm when a trailer tipped over on Highway 406 North in Welland.

A pick-up truck apparently lost control of its trailer on the rainy highway in Welland near the Woodlawn exit ramp.

The OPP had to divert all traffic onto the Woodlawn ramp off the highway while they investigated the mess and got it cleaned up.

Without giving detail, it seems evident what likely happened when the OPP said, “Please drive according to road/weather conditions.”

The OPP didn’t say how long traffic would be delayed.
