Highway 403 shut down after pedestrian killed in Mississauga

The westbound Highway 403 was shut down near Huronontario Street on Wednesday night after a male pedestrian died when he was struck by a car.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division reported that the fatal collision occurred around 10:20 p.m. on Wedneseday. The pedestrian was apparently in a live lane when he was hit by the car. He was found just off the highway near Hurontario.
The driver remained at the scene and spoke with investigators. A collision reconstruction unit was on the scene.

The closure is expected to last several hours, until the investigation is concluded for the night. The Mississauga OPP is asking any witnesses who might have seen a pedestrian in that area around that time to contact them at 905-858-8670
