Ruptured diesel tanks foces closure of westbound lanes of Highway 401 in Whitby

UPDATE: Two right lanes have been re-opened.

With diesel fuel spilling onto the highway, police and emergency crews made the decision to close the westbound lanes of Highway 401 at Brock Street in Whitby after a collision involving a transport truck with a ruptured diesel tank.

Cleanup efforts are currently underway and motorists are being advised they can re-enter the highway using the Brock Street westbound on ramp.
