Highway 401 closed briefly for police response in Mississauga

Police closed Highway 401 for over an hour early this morning in Mississauga.

The westbound lanes of the highway were closed at Mississauga Road/Erin Mills Parkway early this morning (Sept. 28), OPP said.

Police were called to a man in crisis on Mississauga Road near Highway 401, a Peel Regional Police spokesperson tells insauga.com.

Due to the proximity to the highway, the OPP assisted with temporary road closures, police said.

The man was transported to a local hospital and no injuries reported, police said.

The highway reopened around 4 a.m.
