High-wind warning in effect for Thursday in Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills

A special weather statement is in effect for Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills for tomorrow afternoon.

Strong winds are expected Thursday, Mar. 31, with gusts between 80 and 90 km/h. Utility outages are possible.

According to Environment Canada, moderate south winds gusting up to 50 km/h will develop Thursday morning. Winds will then shift to the southwest and strengthen to up to 90 km/h in the afternoon with the passage of a cold front. Wind warnings may be issued for some areas as the system approaches.
