Whether or not you’ll admit it, Brampton is a cool place to live.
Whether or not you’ll admit it, Brampton is a cool place to live. We have a huge pool of creative talent from here, a solid food scene, and now, we have a limited edition clothing line to show our B-town pride!
Local clothing brand “Built in Brampton” is run by 10 high school students currently working from startup incubator LAB B in Brampton.
The line initially launched with limited edition sweaters back in December 2017, and now, it’s back with t-shirts, long sleeves, and even dad caps.
With simple t-shirts inspired by grocery bags, minimalistic shirts and caps, and even long sleeves inspired by Kanye West, the collection aims to represent youth in Brampton.
“In a time when fashion brands are obsessed with larger than life appearances, the summer collection captures an honest portrayal of the city’s urban subculture,” reads a recent release from LAB B.
Zain Razvi, Uchenna Agu, Gevin Madharha, Ayoob Atcha, Emily Marasigan, Patrick Nanan, Lea Virtudazo, Muhammed Taqvi, Mustafa Arshad, and Heaven Miller are the youth behind this new collection.
“Brampton is a creative hub with a lot of local talent. The students in our Zero Gravity program are examples of how youth are aspiring to create projects that not only express their talent, but also aims to create a local impact,” Harpreet Singh, Co-Founder of LAB B, stated in the release.
“Our Zero Gravity program allows students to learn more about digital marketing and web-development using an experiential learning model. The ‘Built in Brampton’ line is an example of how our students are thriving to create positive change.”
The Zero Gravity Program is a 15-week experimental learning model for high school co-op students. Basically, students get to learn more about digital marketing, entrpreneurship, and project management in a hands-on environment.
As for this summer’s clothing line, prices range from $25-$40, and all proceeds funnel back into the Zero Gravity program.
The limited edition gear is only available until May 31.
