Lockdown: High school locked down in Brampton after student caught with replica firearm

Heart Lake Secondary School in Brampton remains in lockdown after a student showed up at school with a replica firearm.

Peel Regional Police said via social media that reports of a student with a weapon just before 1 p.m. turned out to be a student carrying a replica firearm.

Police are still on the scene and say the school remains locked down as a precaution.

A student is in police custody.

No injuries have been reported, police say.
