Burlington development apartment housing Plains
Plaza at the corner of Plains Road West and Howard Road is slated for redevelopment.

A Burlington redevelopment project could see a high-rise building replace a small Burlington plaza.

The proposed project is slated for 127 Plains Road West and Howard Road where a paint store, tile store and Ye Olde Squire of Aldershot pub are currently located.

If the proposal goes through, it calls for a 26-storey apartment building with 246 living units and underground parking.

The project is currently in the pre-development stage and an official proposal has not been put forward for approval by the City of Burlington.

However, a pre-development application meeting to provide details of the project and receive public input is planned for next month.

The property does exist in the area where development is being encouraged, which is near the Aldershot GO station.

In this area, high-density mixed-use housing developments are permitted as is space for retail and commercial property usage.

Here are the steps to view the virtual meeting that takes place on May 1.
