Plans are underway to bring seven skyscrapers to Queen Street for a new high-rise community in Brampton that could bring nearly 2,500 new units to the city.

A zoning amendment request has been filed to turn a vacant 7.5-acre lot at the corner of Queen Street East and The Gore Road into a multi-building, mixed-use community with seven high-rise buildings, according to Urban Toronto.

Ranging from 23 to 43 stories tall, the entire development is expected to add 2,461 residential units to Brampton’s housing stock, along with office and retail spaces.

Developer TACC Construction wants to build the community in four stages starting with two 25-storey and 33-floor towers connected by podium buildings ranging from one to seven stories. Those podiums will have an office and retail space along The Gore Road and Queen Street.

The community would also have indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, and parking for nearly 2,000 vehicles including more than 350 spaces for retail shoppers.

The proposed location is connected to transit and within a Major Transit Station Area and could make for quick connections to ZÜM express lines and Brampton Transit.

The project by TACC Construction and Turner Fleischer Architects is still in the pre-construction phase and developers have submitted an Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment to the city.

TACC Construction is also behind plans for a pair of towering condo developments expected to bring over 1,000 new units to Brampton.
