splash pads close down in mississauga.

With sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-to-high 20s C expected in the next four or five days in Mississauga, it might be a good time to take advantage of the city’s several dozen spray pads one last time this year.

City of Mississauga officials remind residents they have only a few days left to get the kids out for some fun and a cool-down at the splash pads, which close down for the season on Monday.

“As the weather starts to cool off (not until at least next week, though), we’re saying a seasonal goodbye to our splash pads and the Mississauga Celebration Square fountain,” city officials said on Wednesday. “Take a dip this weekend before the fountain closes for the season on Oct. 8. Splash pads across the city will close for the season on Oct. 6.”

Some 34 spray pads across Mississauga will reopen once again next May, when the weather allows. The Celebration Square fountain and wading pool opens each year around the same time.

The splash pads and Celebration Square amenities have become popular spring and summer cooling-off spots over the years for many Mississauga residents looking to escape the heat on hot days.

A particular hit with kids, the spray pads across the city and Celebration Square’s wading pool are open throughout the spring and summer well into September and early October when the weather allows.

The Celebration Square wading pool is open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. each day until Oct. 8.

For spray pad locations and other information, visit the city’s website or call the information line at 311.
