QEW lanes in Mississauga closed nightly

Mississauga Rd. near the QEW will see some upcoming lane closures starting tomorrow (Sept. 27) as crews continue work on rehabilitation of the highway bridge over the Credit River.

Officials with the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project, who are overseeing the massive undertaking, say Mississauga Rd. from South Sheridan Way to the westbound QEW off-ramp will see a single lane closed the nights of Sept. 27-29 and Oct. 4, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following days.

The lane closure will be in effect to facilitate an electrical crossing operation, work crews say.

Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times under flagging operations, and project leaders say minor traffic disruptions are anticipated. Access to/from Mississauga Cres. will be maintained at all times.

Similar lane restrictions in that area are also scheduled for Oct. 5-6 and again Oct. 11-13, at the same times.

Notices of temporary lane and ramp closures on the QEW in Mississauga have been coming fast and furious in the past month.

QEW/Credit River Improvement Project officials have been putting out closure notices almost every other day.

As work continues on the Credit River bridge project, drivers and area residents can expect ongoing traffic disruptions to impact part of the QEW and other areas in the vicinity of Mississauga Rd. and the highway in the coming weeks and months.

Night and weekend work along the 2.6-km stretch of the QEW from Hurontario St. to Mississauga Rd. is expected to impact traffic for the duration of construction.
