Here’s the long weekend weather forecast for southern Ontario

Those looking forward to a long weekend getaway should get some warm weather.

The Victoria Day long weekend, traditionally a time to open up summer cottages or head out for the first camping trip of the season, is May 18, 19 and 20.

While it is cool and rainy today, the weather forecast is calling for highs above 20 C for all three days in southern Ontario.

A mix of sun and cloud with a high of around 22 C kicks off the weekend on Saturday for Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Durham Regions, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. The low is around 14 C.

Hamilton and Niagara Region are a bit cooler with a chance of rain on Saturday.

Sunday gets a bit warmer with highs of 21 to 23 C and mostly sunny skies.

The forecast for Monday is also around 23 C but with a chance of showers, according to the Weather Network.

Those heading up to cottage country can expect similar temperatures around the Muskoka area but cloudy and rainy on Monday.

These temperatures are slightly above normal. Normal highs for this time of year are around 18 to 19 C.
