Here’s every day Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon students will be out of school in 2026-27

Families in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon can start planning vacations, long weekends and childcare well in advance after both the Peel District School Board (PDSB) and Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) released their calendars for the 2026-27 school year.

The two boards’ calendars are nearly identical, meaning most students across Peel Region will be out of class on the same days throughout the year.

Classes begin Tuesday, Sept. 8, following Labour Day, and the final day of school is Wednesday, June 30, 2027.

In addition to weekends, students will enjoy seven statutory holidays, a two-week winter break, a one-week March Break and seven professional activity (PA) days when schools are closed to students.

School holidays

Students in both school boards will be off on:

• Labour Day: Monday, Sept. 7, 2026
• Thanksgiving: Monday, Oct. 12, 2026
• Winter Break: Monday, Dec. 21, 2026, through Friday, Jan. 1, 2027 (inclusive)
• Family Day: Monday, Feb. 15, 2027
• March Break: Monday, March 15, through Friday, March 19, 2027
• Good Friday: Friday, March 26, 2027
• Easter Monday: Monday, March 29, 2027
• Victoria Day: Monday, May 24, 2027

Elementary school PA days

Elementary students in both boards will also have seven PA days:

• Wednesday, Sept. 2
• Thursday, Sept. 3
• Monday, Oct. 26
• Friday, Nov. 27
• Monday, Jan. 18
• Friday, Feb. 12
• Monday, June 14

Secondary school PA days

Secondary students will have these seven PA days:

• Wednesday, Sept. 2
• Thursday, Sept. 3
• Monday, Oct. 26
• Wednesday, Feb. 3
• Friday, Feb. 12
• Tuesday, June 29
• Wednesday, June 30

The school year officially begins Sept. 2 for staff, with students returning to classrooms on Sept. 8 after the Labour Day weekend.

Both boards will provide 187 instructional days for elementary and secondary students, along with seven PA days dedicated to teacher training, assessment, reporting and other professional learning activities.

With the calendars now finalized, families have nearly 15 months to organize vacations, appointments and childcare around the scheduled breaks.
