Although some people are wary of breaking out their Christmas decor and getting fully in the spirit in mid-November, now is actually the perfect time to start preparing for the holiday season.

Especially since the City of Mississauga is hosting a number of events over the coming weeks.

While some events are huge–such as the annual Light up the Square event at Celebration Square–others are more quaint (and even have some historical appeal).

Here’s a look at some city-run events that might put you in the holiday spirit:

1 p.m.
Benares Historic House

Want to sip mulled cider as you prepare, cook and sit down to a Downton Abbey-inspired Christmas dinner? Of course you do. You can also tour the festive historic house and then take your recipes home to recreate a holiday meal for your family and friends.
