Here are the Top 5 Coffee Shops to Visit Outside of Mississauga
When it’s early in the morning and you’re trying to wake up there’s nothing better than a nice fresh, steaming, cup of coffee.
Okay, let’s be real, even when it’s not the morning a cup of coffee always seems like a good idea.
There are an abundance of incredible coffee shops to explore throughout Mississauga but if you want to experience coffee shops in other areas, well, you’ve come to the right place.
Here are the top five coffee shops you should visit outside of Mississauga.
This coffee shop originally opened in 1997 and now has three locations in Guelph.
According to the company’s website, “From the beginning our focus was on certified fair trade and organic gourmet arabica coffee.” Planet Bean Coffee prides itself on its ethical and ecologically sustainable practices.
At Planet Bean Coffee you’ll find a wide selection of organic fair-trade coffee options, as well as fair-trade and organic teas, and more.
To view each location’s hours of operation, visit the Planet Bean Coffee contact page.

There is no shortage of coffee shops in this city (as you’ll soon see - spoiler alert, there is another Hamilton coffee shop on this list) and the first one worth pointing out is Democracy*.
Democracy* is a wondering place to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. In order to promote communication, Democracy* does not offer Wi-Fi.
This vegan and vegetarian coffee shop offers craft beer, baked goods, sandwiches, the ever-so-famous cauliflower chicken wings, and of course coffee.
The hours of operation of this coffee shop are as follows:
Sunday: 7:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Monday - Wednesday - 6:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Thursday - Friday - 6:30 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Saturday - 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Another Hamilton coffee shop, don’t say we didn’t warn you! Mulberry first opened in 2010 and has since become a coffee lover’s haven.
At Mulberry you’ll find a wide selection of coffee and espresso drinks, tea and other hot drinks (including a matcha latte), cold drinks, beers, wines and cocktails, homemade baked goods, and different food options - including my personal favourite, the vegan tahini pizza.
Also at Mulberry, only on Wednesday evenings, live music is performed by local artists.
Mulberry is open Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The first Balzac’s Coffee Roasters opened in Stratford, Ont., in 1996, and now there are 14 locations across the province of Ontario.
There are multiple Balzac’s locations in Toronto, but the one on Market Street, 10 Market St., is only a short walk from Union Station and quite easy to get to.
The franchise sells a variety of coffee and tea selections, as well as baked goods, and even merchandise.
The Market Street location is a perfect little spot to sit down for the day to do work or catch up with a friend.
Hours may vary depending on location but a general outline is as follows:
Monday - Thursday - 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday and Saturday - 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday - 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Open every day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ashanti Coffee serves its customers the finest coffee, hot or iced, from their coffee plantation in Zimbabwe, Africa, as well as soups, wraps, treats, and sandwiches.
At Ashanti Coffee, customers can enjoy breakfast and lunch as well.
Ashanti is also located in other areas of Ontario such as Hanover and Thornbury.
