The top trends and topics lists on YouTube for Canadians in 2025 are out.
YouTube celebrated its 20th birthday this year, but pop culture continues to thrive on the platform.
Canadians search for songs, shows and popular dance trends on YouTube.
For 2025, the animated musical movie KPop Demon Hunters dominated in Canada.
The movie is listed as one of this year’s 2025 trending topics on YouTube in Canada, but songs from the show, including Soda Pop, Golden, How it’s Done and Your Idol were also included in this year’s top trending songs and Shorts lists, YouTube said in a press release.

Also in the realm of KPop (South Korean popular music), ‘APT’ by Rose and Bruno Mars, was listed as the top song on YouTube in 2025 — no surprise given it was the fifth-fastest music video to reach one billion views and the fastest KPop track to do so (unseating Gangnam Style), YouTube noted.

Dance and content trends on Shorts propelled older songs to this year’s top Shorts Songs list, including Pretty Little Baby by Connie Francis and Rock Your Body by The Black Eyed Peas, while new songs including Doechhi’s smash hit, Anxiety, used Shorts to break through.

YouTube also looked at creators to watch, including an Ontario-based creator, SleepyCrafter who has 2.89 million subscribers. Summer, the creator behind SleepyCrafter, leans into different fandoms like KPop Demon Hunters, Roblox, and Italian Brainrot, where she merges her love of gaming and entertainment with crafting.
Other Canadian creators to watch include Mia Plays (772K subs) and Kouman (746K subs), Morgannbook (1.21M subs),Blue Jays Today (45.1K subs) and TheCrochetCrowd.
