There are ten locations across the province where you can no longer buy beer.

As part of its ongoing restructuring due to the changing marketplace, The Beer Store shut down more stores this week at various locations in Ontario.

The system-wide overhaul has been caused, in part, by the shifting sales landscape that allows for beer and liquor to be sold in grocery and convenience stores.

Under the new regulations, there is no less beer available for customers, as the number of stores that provide sales has increased dramatically over the past year, following the provincial government’s allowance for sales at stores, and, beer continues to be sold at LCBO locations.

“The Beer Store is adapting to changes in the retail market in Ontario. This is an ongoing process and includes making the difficult decision to close some retail locations,” said Ozzie Ahmed, the vice president of retail at The Beer Store, in the release about the round of closures slated for Sept. 28. We know this is difficult for customers, employees and the communities where we operate.”

Under the current changes, 83 Beer Stores in Ontario will close in Ontario this year.

Here are the stores that are no longer operating as of this week:

  • Scarborough – 2934 Finch Avenue East
  • Vaughan – 1470 Major Mackenzie Drive
  • Mississauga – 2925 Eglinton Avenue West
  • Mississauga – 3154 Hurontario Street
