As Niagara Falls ushers in 2023, there are some traffic notes to consider.

With fireworks at the Falls and other events happening downtown, Niagara Regional Police have revealed some alternate routes for drivers to use to get around and avoid congestion.

This year there will be two New Year’s Eve fireworks displays at the Falls, the first at 8 p.m. and then again at midnight.

As for parking at the Falls, Niagara Parks has some recommendations:

Getting here: To avoid traffic, exit the QEW at McLeod Rd., then head east. Shortly after McLeod becomes Portage Rd., turn left onto Upper Rapidsview Blvd. At the end of the road, turn left onto the Niagara Parkway. Turn left at the next traffic lights to enter the Falls parking lot.

Getting home: Exit the parking lot and turn right onto the Niagara Parkway, then turn right onto Upper Rapids Blvd. At the end of the road, turn right onto Portage Rd., continue straight and follow signs for the QEW Toronto/Fort Erie.
