While Ontario is home to a vast majority of people, it also is a favoured locale for a number of celebrities.
According to a recent report drafted on behalf of Wahi — a Canadian real estate database — many household names across numerous generations have decided to move across oceans, state lines and borders to carve out a slice of home in Ontario.
While some cases in the GTHA, like Colonel Sanders (who owned a Mississauga property at one point), are relatively well known, many celebs have sneakily found themselves calling this province home in the past as well as today.
Many of these big names (and their corresponding properties) are:
- Drake: Owns a massive mansion in Toronto’s Bridle Path neighbourhood.
- Prince: Before his death, he invested in a massive property in Toronto’s Bridle Path neighbourhood until 2006.
- Mark Wahlberg: Owns a penthouse condo in downtown Toronto.
- Simu Liu: The Marvel star grew up in Mississauga and now lives between Toronto and Los Angeles.
- Jim Carrey: The Canadian superstar owns a cottage near the town of Bancroft, Ontario.
