Helicopter airlifts man from scene of serious crash in Caledon

One man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries by an air ambulance following a serious collision in Caledon on the weekend.

Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a serious collision that occurred on Charleston Sideroad.

The crash happened shortly before 12:00 p.m. on Sunday on a stretch of Charleston Sideroad near Horseshoe Hill Rd. Caledon, according to the OPP.

Police say two vehicles were involved in the crash and three people were rushed to hospital, including a 76-year-old from Erin who was airlifted from the scene by helicopter to a Toronto hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Photos shared by the OPP show police cruisers blocking off Charleston Sideroad with an air ambulance landed on the roadway.

Charleston Sideroad was closed for several hours between Hwy 10 and Airport Rd. while police investigated the crash.
