UPDATE: The Celebration Square skating rink has reopened Friday afternoon.

Last night’s heavy snowfall has temporarily shut down the ice rink at Mississauga’s Celebration Square.

City of Mississauga parks and recreation staff said this morning via social media that “due to a heavy accumulation of snow, the rink at Celebration Square is temporarily closed.”

Mississauga received close to 15cm of snow in the most recent winter storm to hit the city.

Snow plows were busy yesterday and overnight to clear major streets and secondary roads across the city.

City officials say they’ll provide updates as workers attempt to clear the snow and reopen the rink.
