Heavy snow advisory now in effect for Caledon

Some heavy snow and freezing rain is expected to hit Caledon this weekend.

A weather advisory forecasts snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 centimetres starting Sunday morning into the evening, as well as a risk of freezing drizzle overnight and early Sunday evening.

The cause of the weather is a low pressure system that will move through the area tonight and Sunday, causing light flurries possibly mixed with freezing drizzle before transitioning into snow.

The snow is expected to be heavy at times.

Motorists are urged to be cautious as the freezing drizzle may cause slippery conditions, further impacted by low visibility from heavy snow.
