Heavy snow advisory issued for Mississauga, Brampton, Burlington, Oakville and Milton

A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for this afternoon (March 12).
A lake effect snow band extending inland from Lake Huron is producing bursts of heavy snow, which may accumulate up to 5 cm of snow by this evening.
Residents should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly, and exercise caution when walking or driving in affected areas.
If visibility is reduced while driving, motorists are advised to slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
