Heavy rain and strong winds in forecast for Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon this weekend

Heavy rain and strong winds are in the forecast for Brampton and Mississauga this weekend.

Rain is projected to begin Friday evening and last into Saturday, before developing into snow Saturday night.

Between 25 and 45 mm of rain is expected for the Region between Friday and Saturday night.

Additionally, winds reaching speeds of 70 km per hour are expected to develop Saturday, and by Saturday evening, these winds are expected to shift to the northwest with reaching up to 90 km per hour.

Winds travelling that speed can result in driving hazards, such as loose objects and tree branches being thrown or knocked over.

Residents are encouraged to drive with caution, and avoid leaving their homes if possible.
