Heat warning in effect until Tuesday in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville and Milton

A heat warning continues on in Southern Ontario for the next couple of days.

The Heat Warning in effect for these regions (August 29, 2021):

  • Mississauga
  • Brampton
  • Hamilton
  • Burlington – Oakville
  • Caledon
  • Halton Hills – Milton

There is going to be hot and humid conditions today and possibly into Monday.

The daytime maximum temperatures will be 29 to 31 degrees Celsius, with humidex values of 37 to 42.

The Overnight minimum temperatures: 20 to 23 degrees Celsius.

Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can cause the Air Quality Health Index to approach the high risk category.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
