The first of a multi-day heat event is expected to start Monday in parts of southern Ontario.
Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a significant weather outlook for Monday for areas around Windsor in the southwest and west of Thunder Bay in northern Ontario.
Maximum temperatures near 31 C and humidex values in the mid-to-upper 30s are forecast, with minimum temperatures ranging from 21 to 23 C, Environment Canada said.
Maximum temperatures from 31 to 34 C and humidex values in the low 40s are expected on Tuesday.
There remains uncertainty in the intensity and length of the heat event through the remainder of the week, the outlook said.
People should take precautions against heat-related illnesses, including heat stroke.
Although the Greater Toronto Area is not part of the weather outlook, hot and humid weather is expected. The Weather Network is forecasting highs over 30 C, feeling like over 40 C, on Tuesday, Canada Day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the GTA.
