A healthy fast food restaurant offering customized bowls and wraps has opened in Mississauga.

The Toronto chain imPerfect Fresh Eats has opened in Square One’s food district, and it is a milestone for co-founder May Dang who is from Mississauga.

“Growing up in Mississauga, this city holds a special place in my heart,” Dang says in an Instagram post. “It’s been my home, my inspiration.”

Dang says she spent “countless hours” in Square One as a youth and never dreamed she would one day have her own brand in the mall.

“It feels like I have come full circle,” she says. “Seeing my brand light up the Square One sign fills me with pride and humility. It’s a reminder of how far I have grown.”

Dang and her brother Jeff co-founded imPerfect Fresh Eats using slightly imperfect produce that doesn’t end up in traditional grocery stores but is still fresh, healthy and good to eat.

They save on food costs and help reduce food waste at the same time. The company’s mission is to inspire others to join the imperfect movement, according to their website.

Dang thanks customers for their continued support and welcomes Mississauga residents to the new location.

“Mississauga, this city that has shaped me, I invite you to be a part of this new chapter,” she says.
