Health Code Violations in Mississauga – January 23 to 27

In the past few weeks, the Region of Peel has dinged locations in Mississauga for violations of the Ontario Health Protection and Promotion Act.
It is important to note that these restaurants were not closed–they received conditional passes. That means that while some things failed to past muster, the restaurants were not considered hazardous to dine and most have passed re-inspection.
The restaurants/locations which were dinged within the last few weeks are:
Avani Asian Indian Bistro – 1-801 Matheson Boulevard West
Date of Conditional Pass: Jan. 23, 2017
Reason for Result: Food not properly stored to prevent contamination, food kept at improper temperatures
Current Status: Passed more recent inspection on Jan. 24, 2017
Zam Zam Grocers & Halal Meat (Food Take-out) – 9 & 10 3355 The Collegeway
Date of Conditional Pass: Jan. 24, 2017
Reason for Result: Food kept at improper temperatures, handwashing sink did not have required supplies
Current Status: Passed more recent inspection on Jan. 25, 2017

Reason for Result: Food kept at improper temperatures, thermometers were not accurate/easy to read

Kanda Sushi Japanese Buffet – 8,9,10 – 2325 Hurontario Street
Date of Conditional Pass: Jan. 26, 2017
Reason for Result: Inadequate protection against pests, employees did not wash hands to prevent contamination, food not properly stored to prevent contamination
Current Status: Operating with conditional pass
Student Biryani – 13-14 1010 Dream Crest Road
Date of Conditional Pass: Jan. 27, 2017
Reason for Result: Food not protected from contamination, inadequate protection against pests
Current Status: Operating with conditional pass
