Health Code Violations in Brampton – January 16 to 20

In the past few weeks, the Region of Peel has dinged locations in Brampton for violations of the Ontario Health Protection and Promotion Act.

In the past few weeks, the Region of Peel has dinged locations in Brampton for violations of the Ontario Health Protection and Promotion Act.

It is important to note that these restaurants were not closed—they received conditional passes. That means that while some things failed to past muster, the restaurants were not considered hazardous to dine and some have passed re-inspection.

The restaurants/locations which were dinged within the last few weeks are:

Popular Pizza – 10-860 North Park Drive
Date of Conditional Pass: Jan. 16, 2017
Reason for Result: Hazardous food kept at improper temperatures, improperly maintained food contact surfaces and equipment, poor housekeeping
Current Status: Passed more recent inspection on Jan. 19, 2017

Guru’s Chilli Chinese Cuisine – 13-8917 The Gore Road
Date of Conditional Pass: Jan. 19, 2017
Reason for Result: Food not properly stored to prevent contamination, inadequate protection against pests
Current Status: Operating with conditional pass

AJ’s Bakery & Catering – 10-8917 The Gore Road
Date of Conditional Pass: Jan. 19, 2017
Reason for Result: Hazardous food was not cooked/reheated to the required internal cooking temperature, poor housekeeping
Current Status: Operating with conditional pass

Best Choice Jamaican Cuisine – 2-30 Rambler Drive
Date of Conditional Pass: Jan. 19, 2017
Reason for Result: Utensils not properly washed and sanitized, handwashing sink did not have required supplies
Current Status: Operating with conditional pass

Chawla’s – 24-7916 Hurontario Street
Date of Conditional Pass: Jan. 20, 2017
Reason for Result: Employees did not wash hands to prevent contamination, food not properly stored to prevent contamination
Current Status: Operating with conditional pass

7 Eleven – 131 Kennedy Road N
Date of Conditional Pass: Jan. 20, 2017
Reason for Result: Hazardous food kept at improper temperatures, surfaces were not kept clean and sanitary
Current Status: Operating with conditional pass
