A two-vehicle crash sent a man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries last weekend.

Shortly before 7 p.m. on December 2, a black Nissan Frontier pick-up truck was driving east on Clarington’s Energy Dr. As the truck approached Bowmanville Ave. it began to drift across the centre line into oncoming traffic.

Driving on the wrong side of the road, the Frontier crashed into an oncoming Chevrolet Impala on the west side of Bowmanville Ave.

The Frontier’s driver, 67, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. He was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre for treatment and was later downgraded to serious but stable condition. The driver in the Impala suffered minor wounds. Each was the only occupant in their respective vehicles.

Durham Regional Police responded to the scene shortly after. Their Collision Investigation Unit shut down the area for a few hours to investigate and collect evidence.

Anyone who saw the crash but has not yet spoken to the police can call D/Cst Scott at 905-579-1520 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at  1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
