The Town of Halton Hills is looking for public input before it finalizes plans for a replacement playground at Cedarvale Park in Georgetown.

Located at the intersection of Maple Ave. and Main St. S., Cedarvale Park is a 16-hectare park located about a 10-minute walk from the downtown core.

The Town is planning the replacement of the existing playground structure at Cedarvale, focussing on inclusive and collaborative play.

“We want to create a unique and engaging destination where users of all ages and abilities can access and enjoy the benefits of outdoor play,” said a Town spokesperson.

The park itself takes its name from its farming heritage, as it was home to Cedar Vale Farm, which once marked the southern edge of town.

Today, the park offers a range of recreational services and amenities including the playground, soccer fields, a leash-free dog area, disc golf, a shelter and seating, as well as naturalized and open green space.

Before the plan is finalized this summer, the Town is now looking for public input. Residents will help to ensure a play space that is designed to meet the community’s needs and matches the project budget and site constraints.

There will be another round of consultation sharing the design concept, to gather further public feedback, allowing us to then finalize the design and be ready for fall construction.

To take the survey, before Mar. 20, visit the Town website.
