The Niagara Falls Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA) had a pretty big musical announcement this morning (July 29).

Two new pianos are coming to the downtown core and they’re gonna to be a little more colourful than your basic black.

“Talented local artists, Andrea Letourneau and Megan Jesik, will each be hand-painting a grand piano to be displayed downtown,” said the BIA in an announcement. “The BIA can’t wait to see what unique and beautiful designs the artists create.

These pianos will be available for the public to admire, play, or simply listen to. They will be located outside of The Hub at 4333 Queen Street and the BIA office at 4605 Queen Street.

“With all the events we have planned downtown this summer, we are expecting higher foot traffic, allowing more people to enjoy the musical and decorative pianos” says Julia Ford, Events Manager of the Niagara Falls Downtown BIA.

The pianos will be put out starting early August to add some music and spirit to downtown, said the BIA. “Visitors are invited and encouraged to play them when they come!”

The BIA added, “With the past year being a difficult one, (we are) hoping that the pianos will help liven up the downtown area and bring smiles to the community.”
