Hamilton’s wine festival makes for a perfect Mother’s Day celebration

Calling all wine lovers to sip, savour and celebrate this Mother’s Day weekend!

The Why Not Wine Festival, organized by Sonic Unyon, will take place at Bridgeworks in Hamilton and feature top local wineries, breweries, and distilleries.

The festivities span two days (May 12 and 13) from 4 pm to 11 pm. Wines from some of the most well-known wineries in the area, including Byland Estate Winery, Cornerstone Estate Winery, Malivoire Winery, Tawse Winery, and more, will be available for tasting.

Additionally, attendees can sample other beverages, such as those produced by Ernest Cider, Merit Brewing, Sprucewood Shores, and Willibald Farm Distillery & Brewery.

Friday’s live entertainment will feature a performance by Wannabe: A Spice Girls Tribute, while Saturday’s lineup includes a drag show presented by House of Adam and Steve, with sets from Karma Kameleon, Ivory Towers, Tash Riot, Ultra Violet, and Phoenix Black.

Single-day tickets are available for $24.99 (plus fees and taxes), while weekend/two-day tickets are available for $40 (plus fees and taxes), both of which include a complimentary sampling cup. Two-ounce sampling tokens will also be available for purchase on-site.
