A new eatery and bar has opened its doors in downtown Hamilton and it promises to deliver an out-of-this-world experience to its patrons.

Roswell, located at 353 Barton St. E, opened to the public earlier this month and specializes in extra-terrestrial-themed cocktails and grab-and-go ‘earth food’.

All menu offerings, which includes hot dogs, healthy bowls, salads and a variety of snack items, are gluten-free and there are a number of vegan and vegetarian options available to satisfy all dietary needs.

While the food looks phenomenal, it’s the cocktail menu that is going to propel this cosy little soon-to-be hot spot to stardom with cleverly named and unique libations like the Sigourney Caesar (which could very likely be the best name for a caesar ever), the Illuminaughty, and the Sparkled and Probed.

There is also an impressive number of non-alcoholic sodas, juices, teas and Kombucha on the menu.

Roswell is replacing the former Stardust, an 80s themed cocktail bar that opened in late 2020 and was the sister operation to the tremendously popular and delicious Motel Restaurant.

Stardust’s stellar trajectory was cut short by the pandemic and the owners took the prolonged shutdown to rebrand and tweak some of the eatery’s offerings.

For now, Roswell is open from Thursday to Sunday and guests have a choice of whether or not they take their meals to go or to stay in and work their way through the cocktail menu.

The new bar’s opening coincides with this coming weekend’s Hamilton Day event across the city that invites Hamiltonians to spend the day supporting local businesses across the city. It might just be the perfect time to check out Roswell.
