A serious collision at the Lincoln Alexander Parkway in Hamilton has left one motorcyclist, believed to be in his 70s, in critical condition and another man with minor injuries.

Sections of the expressway, which were closed earlier in the day, have now reopened.

Just before 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a serious collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle, Hamilton police tweeted on Tuesday, May 23.

Hamilton’s Linc was closed at both directions at Upper Gage Avenue in the morning on May 23.

Hamilton police didn’t respond to requests to share more details about the accident. Hamilton Paramedic Services confirmed that a man believed to be in his 70s, who was the motorcyclist, was transported to a local trauma centre in critical condition with a “life-altering injury.”

Another man, believed to be in his 60s, was sent to local hospital with “minor injuries,” David Thompson, superintendent with Hamilton Paramedic Service, told inthehammer.com.

Thompson said he can’t provide details about specific injuries.
