Internationally renowned best-selling author and Hamilton resident, Lawrence Hill, will be headlining this year’s gritLIT festival.

Organizers of the four-day literary festival, which is being held this year from April 21 to 24, announced the lineup of events for the festival on Friday (March 11), the same day tickets went on sale.

At least 24 authors are expected to attend this year’s festival, which will feature 26 in-person and virtual events and seven writing workshops. In-Person events take place at the Homewood Suites By Hilton at 40 Bay Street South.

Aside from the award-winning Hill, authors at this year’s festival include Kamal Al-Solaylee, Ralph Benmergui, Jaclyn Desforges, Michelle Good, Heather O’Neill, Perry King and many others.

Since its inception in 2004, gritLIT has attracted tens of thousands of bookworms and writers to the event and has featured some of the world’s most talented literary minds, many of whom call Hamilton home.

Lovers of the written (and spoken) word will want to check out this year’s schedule as soon as possible as some events have limited space.

A calendar of events and ticketing information can be found on the festival’s website.
